Are you ready to turn off?

Updated: Dec 24, 2023

(Excerpt from Reboot Yourself's Prologue)

Are you ready for Reboot Yourself? The following questions will help you make sure.

Be scrupulously honest - you alone know the answers. Your honesty will determine how much value you will get from this book.

  1. On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with your life right now?

  2. Are you living the life you dreamed of as a child?

  3. Have you made any compromises in your life, intentionally or otherwise, that are now no longer ok with you?

  4. Who are you trying to please in life? Think carefully.

  5. What age do you want to be when you die? What do you want to have accomplished by then?

  6. When you look back at your life, do you experience feelings of strong regret?

  7. Have you tried several times to start over, with no effect?

How satisfied are you with your life right now?

Let’s have a look at your answers.

  1. If you are 100% satisfied with your life, maybe you don’t need this book. This book is for the person who has decided they MUST change. It won’t be easy.

  2. Sometimes our childhood dreams hold a clue to our truest desires. Most people’s answer to this question is “no”. Keep reading to find out more.

  3. If your answer to this question is “yes” then keep reading. Compromises – especially the ones we make by mistake – can hold us back and cause our potential to be wasted.

  4. You may have been able to answer this question very quickly, or it may have made you think. If you had to think, that’s good, because so often we are trying to please others. Sometimes it’s a specific person (who may not even be alive anymore) and sometimes it’s “people”. More on this in chapter 1.

  5. 100% of people die; very few of us act as if that is the case. Thinking about our end helps us focus on our middle – right now, while we are still alive and can make an impact.

  6. If you don’t experience feelings of regret for your life, maybe this book is not for you. But if you do, this book might just help you to leave regret behind you.

  7. If you haven’t tried to start over, but you’d like to start, this book IS for you. It’s also for you if this isn’t the first self-help book you’ve read, and you are taking a deep breath because it gets tiring after several attempts. I see you. In fact, I am you. In this book, I will share principles that I and others have learnt the hard way, so you don’t have to.
